Canon: Eyes On Imaging Business And Subsidiary Stake (Rating Upgrade)

Canon's rating is upgraded from "Hold" to "Buy," after analyzing the prospects of the imaging division and the move to convert its electronics arm into a 100%-owned subsidiary. The future for the Imaging segment is bright, considering favorable industry data and structural growth trends. Plans to take full ownership of Canon Electronics will translate into new satellite-related opportunities, further backward integration, and a removal of the parent-subsidiary listing structure.
